YPAS children attend Brouhaha Liverpool with Movema dance
Over the last several weeks, children from YPAS’s Smarty’s groups have been practising and preparing for their dance performance with Movema Dance and to be part of The Brouhaha Carnival. The Brouhaha Carnival is focused on celebrating Diversity and widening participation within the arts, through creativity and dance.
On Saturday, July 7, children headed to Myrtle Street Liverpool to have their faces painted and don their amazing costumes in preparation for the carnival walk at 12pm. Together they headed through the streets of Liverpool and finally reaching Granby Street Toxteth; the streets were lined with people and children dancing and joining in the celebrations.
It was a fantastic opportunity for all the children who took part, and they all performed amazingly on the day. It was an amazing day for them to experience new dances, meet new people from different cultures – they thoroughly enjoyed being active in this project and engaged throughout. This project with Movema also allowed the children to meet other children from different centres who were also involved.
