Date/Time
16/05/2024 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
Do you know a young carer? Unsure if a young person you may be working with or children within a family that you know, or support may have caring responsibilities for another family member? Do you work in a school, do you have a role to support young carers, or would you simply like to be more Young Carer Aware? This bite-size session aims to increase awareness of the complex needs of young carers/young adult carers, and understand how early identification and support for children & young people who have caring responsibilities can have a positive impact on their mental health and overall wellbeing. Making Young Carers rights a reality.
This session will explore who is a young carer and the reasons young carers can appear hidden. The negative impact of caring responsibilities Vs the positive impact of caring. Understanding their needs and what best practice looks like, to support the mental health and wellbeing of all young carers.
