Who is the course for: 

This course is for over 18s in a senior management or leadership role, who’s team or organisation works with anyone who is or may have experienced ACEs ( Adverse Childhood Experiences). If you work with babies, families and or adults. Places will be prioritised for those working beyond the children and young persons workforce. The training is primarily aimed at; GPs and Allied health professionals . Also, school Nurses and the physical health sector. But everyone is welcome.

About the course:  Firstly, the session will introduce; What are Adverse childhood experiences. Secondly it will explore why do they matter and what is the impact. Thirdly it will introduce the city wide Growing Stronger framework.  And give reflective time to explore the Growing Stronger framework. And finally,  delegates will plan what changes you can make to their role as a leader as well as how they can support their team to work within the framework effectively. Most importantly think about how we adapt practice to buffer and address the impact of adverse childhood experiences in the city.

Learning Outcomes: 

The course will increase awareness of adverse childhood experiences. Along with improving understanding to why they matter, including the  health, social, economical impacts. Plus, increase self awareness and reflective practice skills of staff and colleagues. Strategies to build collective resilience within your team and how to work towards being a trauma responsive team/ organisation. in the context of the city of Liverpool’s approach to ACEs.
