Luciana Berger Visits YPAS Plus North Hub

Staff and young people at YPAS were delighted to welcome Luciana Berger to our North YPAS Plus Hub and show her around the fantastic facilities here in the community. Luciana is a Labour & Co-op MP for Liverpool Wavertree, a Member of the Health Committee and President of the Labour Mental Health Committee.

The YPAS Plus Community Hubs provide a range of services and links to health, education, and social care; supporting the mental health and emotional wellbeing needs of the community. During Luciana’s visit to our North Hub, she met children from our neighbouring primary school: Mab Lane with whom the hub has a close relationship with. Smarty’s group volunteers were also on hand to speak to Luciana about their work in the community and how welcoming YPAS into the community has already seen a huge benefit.

Her visit ended with tea and cake and a chat with our young ambassadors about her latest campaigning activities and discussions around the government green paper for children’s mental health.

It’s fantastic to have the support and recognition from Luciana for the community hubs and everyone involved in the afternoon enjoyed her visit.
