Children in Care pathway bitesize via Zoom

Who is the course for? This course is primarily for those working in the social care sector with children in care. The session supports understanding of the children in care pathway toolkit.
About the course: Delivered by the MYA RAISE Team, this bitesize session will aid as a reminder to professionals of the universal offer available to all children in care and provide updates of any new developments. Highlight the importance of being ACE responsive and introduce the city-wide framework for addressing the impact of ACEs. Clarify the use and benefits of the enhanced offer of the consultation process. Time to reflect on and discuss out-of-area placements and sections 2, 3 and 117 of the Mental Health Act, then finally explore the Gateway, DSD and Escalation processes.
The learning outcomes:
- Introduction to the children in care toolkit and where to access it online
- Increases awareness of toolkit and pathways for mental health support for children in care
- Clarity around the consultation process
- Knowledge of other areas of training that can continue to improve practice and support for children in care
- Increased awareness of screening tools such as SBAR and CNEST
- Personal reflective time to adapt ways of working
