Who the course is for:  This course is for those working with children and young people (in any capacity), and parents, carers, or those caring for children and young people. This bitesize may be of particular interest to staff supporting children and their families attending primary and secondary schools.

About this course: Delivered by the MYA RAISE Team, this Bitesize course introduces what a crisis is, types of crises and how this may look for different people. We will explore the various appropriate support services that can be accessed. Case studies will be discussed to highlight the steps to take when dealing with a crisis, including tips and strategies to keep in mind.

Learning outcomes:

  1. Understand what a crisis is, types of crises and how this can look for different people.
  2. Awareness of the appropriate services that can support individuals in crisis situations.
  3. Improved understanding of how to support a child or young person in crisis.
  4. Knowledge of how to support parents and carers in crisis.

Time length: 1 hour 30 minutes

Delivery method: via Zoom. You will receive confirmation and a link to the session from the deliverer via email before the course date.
