Who is the course for:

Kinship kids and mental health is for anyone who cares for or works with children and young people.

About the course:

Delegates will learn what a kinship family is and how to recognise a kinship kid, gain further understanding around the parliamentary report ‘First Thought not an After Thought’, law and legislation, learn about an animation created in partnership by Merseyside Youth associations RAISE team and Kinship Carers Liverpool and what role you can play in supporting Kinship families. With further support, guidance and information to be provided after attendance of the training.

Learning outcomes:

Understand what Kinship is and the role in supporting young peoples mental health kinships plays

Increased awareness of the issued faced by kin-kids and their kinship families

The importance of being ACE and trauma aware

Ways to support the resilience of kin-kids and kinships families
