Who is the course for: 

Managing child worry is for anyone who cares for or works with children and young people.

About the course: 

This bite-size session will look at what worry is, how it  worry is a normal part of life, it helps keep us safe.  How normal everyday worry can differ differs from a developing anxiety condition and why as parents and carers  we need to support our children to worry and find effective ways to contain worry. Rather then tell a child to simply stop worrying.

The session introduces the concept of worry time along, the importance of learning your children about the anxiety response and provide information on ways to communicate to your child about worry from the views of young people.

Learning outcomes: 

Understand worry and anxiety is a normal human function

Ways of empowering our children to take control of their anxiety and worry and learn how to control and contain it

A range of strategies to put in place into a child’s daily routine

Time length: 

1 hour
