Get involved with Liverpool Mental Health Support for Children and Young People
One of the Liverpool Mental Health Support for Children and Young People Partnership’s aims is to make children’s and young people’s mental health and emotional well-being ‘Everyone’s Business’. In doing so, the RAISE mental health promotion team wants to ensure that you, the children and young people, parents and carers, and professionals working with families have a say on how services are delivered and get involved with Liverpool Mental Health Support for Children and Young People.
Participation is at the heart of what we do because it’s important that your voices are heard and that they inform the delivery of the
Liverpool Mental Health Support for Children and Young People’s Offer.
I am a child or young person wanting to get involved.
GREAT! We are always excited when new young people get involved with Liverpool CAMHS. The RAISE mental health promotion team can tell you more and invite you to the next meeting or event to get a taste of what participation is all about.
Almost everything we do involves the participation of children and young people (up to 25 years) so that young people have a voice in mental health and emotional well-being. From planning city-wide events, open mic nights, filming, steering groups, focus groups, workshops, website development and much more.
The NOW Festival
The NOW Festival aims to engage young people in a creative discussion around mental health through whatever ‘NOW’ issue is selected for that year. The festival provides a platform to raise awareness, challenge stigma and explore ways of building resilience and improving mental health.
The annual NOW Festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2025!
Over the last decade, NOW Festival has established itself as a unique and inclusive opportunity for young people to collaborate with other schools and youth groups while sharing creative ideas and engaging with mental health themes, fostering collaboration and growth.
The 2025 event will take place on February 4th, 5th, and 6th, during Children’s Mental Health Week.
Want to be a part of next year’s NOW Festival?
To find out more about the 2025 event, register your place at the official launch at Merseyside Youth Association on 26th September at 5pm.
MYA YAY is a participation group named by the young people themselves. It is a platform for young people across the Liverpool CAMHS partnership and wider organisations, such as schools and youth groups, to have a voice regarding mental health.
The group meet throughout the month. They’re always looking for new members, so if you know of a young person aged 11+, they can register here.
I am a parent or carer, and I want to get involved.
We welcome parents and carers who want to get involved in making their voices heard about mental health services for their children. Please get in touch for more information or future meeting dates.
We deliver bite-size courses on various mental health issues that impact children, young people, and their families.
The sessions will last between 60-90 minutes and will be delivered via Zoom to groups of people at various times of the day and evening. We are inviting parents and members of the children and young people’s workforce to participate in these sessions together.
You can register for each course on the training pages
